According to a recent report in InBusiness, “Since our economy becomes more tech-based every day, the demand for skilled IT labor will not subside anytime soon.”
One way to fulfill this demand is by introducing a new program that makes it easy for adults in the workforce to make a career change. With this in mind, the online University of Wisconsin Bachelor of Science in Applied Computing was designed to attract possible career changers to help fill the IT gap.
InBusiness notes that now is the time to make the switch. Wisconsin ranks seventh in projected state growth of IT workers over the next few years, according to CompTIA’s 2017 Cyberstates report. Nationwide employment mirrors this trend: there is a dearth of IT professionals across the country.
Wisconsin businesses have to adapt to this shortage of qualified professionals. Earning a degree in applied computing could be what sets candidates apart, allowing anyone who is interested to enter and succeed in this rapidly-growing industry.
